Thank you so much for allowing me the honor of creating beautiful photos of your senior. My goal for each session is to have a blast and create gorgeous imagery that can be enjoyed today and passed down from generation to generation.

Senior Guide

My style is both posed and candid, I love capturing seniors looking at the camera and of course laughing and just being goofy. Almost all sessions are photographed in the afternoon/evening for optimal lighting; the time frame of this will depend upon the season and the sun. With this said, if the weather is calling for overcast skies in the morning with rain/snow in the evening we may be able to have the photo session in the morning. If the weather looks like it will be bad all day we will work together to figure out the best time to reschedule. Please read through the following information to help prepare you for your session. We are going to have a blast!

WHAT TO EXPECT

PRIOR TO YOUR SESSION

I am a very hands-on photographer and will always do my best to help pose you so you look your best. With that said, please make sure your clothes are ironed and crisp. I can make a lot of magic happen in Photoshop but unwrinkling clothes is not possible. Please be sure that you either have no nail polish on, or your nails have just been painted. Chipped nail polish never looks great in photos. Sometimes before a photo session your adrenaline will start running and you may wake up with a zit or two! Have no fear, of course you can put on your normal makeup, but don’t go nuts trying to cover that blemish. Photoshop magic will kick in and I promise no one will ever know about that zit. It makes it much harder on my end if you try to use cover-up that you normally don’t use and the cover-up color does not match your skin.

LADIES

GENTLEMEN

I promise we are going to have a fun time and I will make this experience as painless as possible. I ask of you the same thing I ask of the lady seniors, please make sure your clothes are ironed before the session. The camera does not like wrinkled clothes and unfortunately, I can’t magically make wrinkles disappear during the editing process.

WHAT TO WEAR

Ah, the age-old question always associated with photo sessions. Styling is one thing I try not to have too much of a hand in, since I want you to still be you and not Alisa Messeroff’s idea of fashion, but I am here to help. You are given the option of having up to three different outfits as part of your senior session and I always encourage everyone to take advantage of that. These outfits should reflect your personality! If you love wearing flannels, then for one of the outfits, rock a flannel. I do suggest trying to make each of your three outfits a little different. So instead of wearing three sweaters switch it up a little. Please stay away from anything with logos or funny sayings. Be sure to dress from head to toe. With that said if your senior session is during the winter please make sure your footwear is appropriate, we don’t want anyone hurting themselves. Ladies, for one outfit you could rock a cute dress, then jeans and lastly something that reflects a hobby you love. Accessories are always great too... a fun scarf, pretty necklace, cute hat, etc! Men, have a little fun with your outfits too. Please stay away from loose t-shirts; if you want to wear a t-shirt please make sure it is semi fitted and looks flattering. Button up shirts always look great on men, or you could wear a polo with a sweater on top. Maybe even go little crazy and rock a vest. Please do not wear any clothing that has super tiny boxes as this creates a distracting pattern in camera.

THE DAY OF YOUR SESSION

During your session, if you have any specific poses or creative ideas that you want to capture, please let me know! I do not bite and I love being able to capture who you are. It is totally fine for Mom and/or Dad to watch the photo session. I do ask that parents hang back a tiny bit so your son/daughter can be fully relaxed. I encourage a more hands off approach. With that said if something looks off during the session, you are more than welcome to speak up. The session lasts between 90 - 120 minutes and I try to get different scenery in the photographs, including mountains, trees, bridges, fun colors and textures. If there is a specific background that you would like in your photographs, please let me know and I will be happy to accomodate your request if possible. I also encourage you to bring a prop if it helps to show who you are. If you love football, bring a football.... love reading, bring a book… you are going to college to study be a doctor, bring a stethoscope. I want to incorporate those fun things into your session!

A quick but important note: if the weather turns out warmer/cooler than you anticipated when putting together outfits, please be prepared to adjust what you are wearing. Doing a session when it's freezing and you are underdressed is never fun. In case of rain/snow, I will be watching the radar all day. If it doesn't rain/snow, but is overcast, we will proceed with your session. If the weather is calling for a storm, we will touch base and figure out when we can reschedule. If you are visiting Breckenridge on vacation and it is just not possible to reschedule (this honestly has never happened to me before as I have always made it work), you will be refunded.

WEATHER

Just as important as the weather is that you are feeling 100%. There isn’t anything worse than having a photo session when you are unwell. At the first sign that you’re not feeling well, please contact me immediately.
